Timberline received 24" of snow over the past few days with the possibility even larger accumulations occurred up towards the summit. Geoff thought the ascent might be okay, but we could run into trouble on the way down. By waiting two weeks, we'll be able to take another stab at it with an increased likelihood of success (and safety).
This is disappointing - but it's the right call. There's no reason to take the risk. And if we went and had to turn back, we'd be out our guiding fees. By waiting, we can make another attempt at no additional charge.
As of right now, we're tentatively scheduled to go up the weekend of May 15 - stay tuned for more details...
