Mt. Hood in 2008, the prequel to the Pentaquest

In less than 24 hours the sixth season of the Pentaquest begins! Since 2009 (or 2008), we've climbed Hood, Rainier, Adams, Shasta, St. Helens, Eldorado Peak, Strawberry, South Sister, Diamond Peak, Baker and Denali - in some cases multiple times.

What will 2014 bring? It's too soon to tell, but it promises to be another epic season in the Cascades. Mt. St. Helens is guaranteed to happen. It's also likely some of the repeat offenders such as South Sister or Adams will be on the list. Otherwise anything is possible. Jefferson, McLoughlin, Glacier Peak, Middle Sister, Whitney (California) and Cowhorn (central Oregon) are being considered.
